Dr Joao Martins is a Consultant Cardiologist based in Brighton with extensive experience in all aspects of general and interventional cardiology.
He provides personalised, evidence-based care for patients with chest pain, breathlessness, high blood pressure, palpitations/arrhythmias, heart failure and cardiovascular risk management, offering comprehensive private cardiology assessment and treatment tailored to each individual.
Dr Martins NHS practice is based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he delivers specialist care across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease, including complex coronary and structural heart interventions.

Training and Qualifications
Dr Martins graduated with honours in Medicine from the University of Porto before undertaking doctoral and post-doctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, USA.
He completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in London, followed by advanced fellowships in Interventional and Structural Cardiology at King’s College Hospital, St George’s Hospital and Oxford University Hospitals.
